Project Overview
Boats In Water, commonly named Sail Shadow Sculpture, is a core iconic landmark of the Maritime Silk Road Art Park in Quanzhou, a world-famous ancient port city and the starting point of China’s ancient Maritime Silk Road. Designed in 2015, this 36-meter-high monumental sculpture adopts a sleek and elegant design inspired by giant white sails, perfectly echoing the local marine culture and maritime silk road heritage.
Crafted from high-quality stainless steel material, the entire sculpture boasts outstanding durability, corrosion resistance and weather resistance, fully adapting to the coastal humid and windy outdoor environment. As a typical large-scale public art installation, it integrates artistic aesthetics with structural stability, presenting a minimalist and modern visual effect.
The elegant sail silhouette stands tall in the park, symbolizing the spirit of maritime exploration, cultural inheritance and open communication. Up to now, the Boats In Water sculpture has become a representative urban cultural landmark of Quanzhou Taiwanese Investment Zone, witnessing the city’s profound maritime history and vibrant modern development.
